A new thing I learned today and I don’t know how many of them knew about this. Anyway I want to share it with you all :-)

ROR sitemap is a unique type of sitemap through which you can tell the search engines (almost all the search engines, including Google) about your websites’ update. Microsoft Update

Next week Microsoft may release their new version of office for both the business customers (upgrade version) and for windows vista.

Google Update

Google has planned to release many other office products in future. It may include the word processor, employee websites and scheduling programs.

This becomes a great competition between Google and Microsoft, read below what both of them say about the above update:

"Free software has an appealing ring to it, but free software has been around for a while now and it turns out free doesn't trump the software doing what people need it to do," - Antoine LeBlond, Co-leader of Microsoft Office Group.

The company is not attempting to compete with Microsoft Office stating rather that they are, "focused on simple applications with an emphasis on sharing that are aimed at consumers and small business users" - Eric Schmidt, Google's Chief Executive

Google Pack Update

Google have added Skype to there Google Pack. Everyone was shocked regarding this issue! Can anyone know how this free voice software was added to Google pack? This addition is free or paid?

Anyway, it is a good time for Skype :)

Google planned to add more stuff to its Google Pack, wait for another exiting update from Google!

Google Purchase of YouTube

Google has announced the purchase of YouTube for $15 Million (Approximate Value).

This is great to hear such update from Google! Google will add more good features to make it as the best service provider in the internet.

META Refresh Redirect

Most of them know about redirects. Especially about the search engine friendly redirect.

These are some of the basic redirect methods followed in the websites,

Temporary Redirect (302 Redirect)
Permanent Redirect (301 Redirect)
META Refresh Redirect (Page Side Redirect)

From the above methods, the 301 redirect is the hardly recommended for the search engines. Also Google strongly recommends using this redirect (301).

META refresh redirect and 302 Redirect it is not advisable to use it for search engines, instead we can use 301, which is recommended by most of the search engine.

Check the type of redirect that you use for your website, if is other than 301, then please make sure you change it.

GData – XML Feed from Google:

At present we use two standard XML syndication formats, RSS and Atom. Now the great thing has happened in Google. Google has introduced its new feed called "Google Data", in short called as the "GData".
