Effective Link Request Template

How to create an effective Link Request Template

1. Proper subject (Link Request, Link Exchange Request, etc)
2. Try to find the webmaster’s name or website owner’s name and add them in the LIT (start as “Dear XXXX”, “Hello XXXX” etc)
3. A small description about their website (please include the home page URL of their website)
4. A brief introduction about yourself (example: My name is xxx and I am working as the webmaster of sample.com for the past 3 years and I have good experience in the search engine marketing and got up many websites in the rankings)
5. A brief introduction about the website and the service that we provide through the website (example: My website provides web designs service and we have developed more than 100 websites and we are specialized in search engine marketing)
6. We should explain how this link exchange helps both websites in the search engine rankings (A paragraph that describes your site and why you feel it's link-worthy)
7. Tell the URL where you need your link to be placed on their website
8. Tell them where you will place their link (if you have already placed a link, please proved the URL)
9. A valid signature: it should contain the following,
  • Name

  • Designation

  • Valid E-mail ID

  • Valid Website URL

  • Phone number (not necessary but if you provide this it will look professional)

  • Optional: Logo of your website to make the letter more professional

10. Try to reframe it for each and every webmaster you contact for link exchange :)

Please let me know if anybody needs a sample link request :)

Links Baiting Techniques for Blogs

To generate traffic to blogs we can do the following things,

1) News:
We can post important and useful information about latest happenings in the world (or related to the topic of our blog)

2) Resources:
We can have informative links in the blogs without expecting any reciprocal links from them and this will surely get some back-links to the blog, if the information available in the blog is really useful for the visitor.

3) Humor:
We should have some topics with fun that will entertain the user when he gets bored. This is to retain the visitor in the blogs for a longtime.

4) Contrary:
We can post some topics that are contrary to the existing thing, so that visitors are allowed to have a good discussion (and sometimes debate) about that topic in the blog. Even though the contradiction posting points to false news it should be interesting, else it won’t make the use to revisit the blog again (but this technique is not recommended, because some of them always don’t like the false news)

5) Frequent Update of the Blog (i.e. Freshness of Content):
We should update the blogs daily (or at least regularly) because freshness-of-content plays a major role in the search engine rankings (especially in Google).

Google Banning Websites For Duplication: Example

Google Banning Websites and Web-Pages: Example

You have heard about Google banning websites that copy content from other websites, if the content owner registers a complaint in Google under Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Google will remove that result page(s) from the listings.

Recently I got an example and would like to share it with you all, this is really a good example, just go through it and you find it very interesting,

The following website was launched 2 to 3 years back and it provides SEO services to many clients, http://www.seoservicesgroup.com/

Given below is the screen shot of that website,

Recently I saw another website (SEO Heights), just look at the screen shot and you will not believe this, and they have copied the above website (everything, except the logo) :)

The owner of the original website submitted a complaint under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and got the copied website out of the listings.

So beware, don’t copy any website content and articles without proper permission from the webmasters :)

Bigdaddy progress update

In case you don’t want to download a 70 megabyte audio file, here’s the latest on Bigdaddy. Bigdaddy continues to roll out and is now available at three data centers. In addition to 66.249.93.104 and 64.233.179.104, Bigdaddy is now up at 216.239.51.104. We’ve been going through the spam feedback and acting on it, and reading through the general search feedback as well.

Q: Is Bigdaddy still on track and launching?A: Yes. Remember that Bigdaddy involves new infrastructure and is not just a data push or algorithm update. Don’t take it as a promise, but I’d expect a new data center to be converted to Bigdaddy roughly every 10 days or so. Again, take that as a rule of thumb. There are smart folks doing this transition, and they’re deciding how to do it in the best way.
Q: Will those IP addresses always show Bigdaddy results?A: No, not always. Sometimes data centers are taken out of the rotation for testing or other reasons.
Q: Is there an easy way to test if a datacenter is running Bigdaddy?A: There’s not a definitive way outside of Google. But the [sf giants] example that I mentioned in my
pre-Bigdaddy 302 post remains a pretty good test. If the query [sf giants] returns giants.mlb.com, the odds are pretty good that you’re hitting Bigdaddy.
Q: How will I see the switchover happen?A: It will happen naturally as more data centers switch over to the Bigdaddy infrastructure. The more data centers there are using Bigdaddy, the odds of you hitting a Bigdaddy data center in the normal rotation go up.
Q: Can I still give spam or quality feedback?A: Absolutely. Follow the same instructions from my original
Bigdaddy post. I’ll ask someone to review any new spam feedback, and I’ll request that someone look through the non-spam search quality feedback looking for issues as well.
