How to Create Folders in GMail Web Interface

Everyone know that GMail is one of the best solution for processing emails, especially emails with high attachment (GMail now supports 20 MB of attachment). But most of them complaint about one many drawback in its online interface, yes, we can’t create folders in GMail. But after a small research with GMail, I managed to find a solution of this problem.

I don’t know whether you know about this, but I just wanted to share this information with everyone.

Here is the actual solution:

First create labels as per your requirement
Next, select the email(s) that you want to transfer to a folder
After selecting it, apply the label that you want
After that “archive” it

That’s all! Your emails will be now segregated into folders :) navigate to each end every label, as if you are using folders.

Hope this small piece of information will help, but the easiest way it to configure it to outlook or outlook express or any email client and segregate it to folders… ;)

Update:

Now you can create nested labels. Like folder inside folder, you can have label inside label. Now it is even simple to categories and store your emails.

To enable "Nested Labels" got to "Setting" on top-right corner of your online Gmail inbox and click on "Labs" and enable "Nested Labels" and save

Settings --> Labs --> Enable Nested Labels --> Save --> :-)

and this is how you create nested labels:

"Add slashes (/) to label names to express inheritance. For example, if you want a Home label with two child labels named Kids and Shopping, create the three following labels: Home, Home/Kids and Home/Shopping."

Labels: , , ,

Hi, I created a label but I forgot to hit archive and now it seems like all those messages have been deleted...they don't show up in my inbox and the label is empty.

Any help?

Blog Piaget,

Good tip for offline email storage.

But my suggestion is for the GMail users who wants to use the web interface and doesn't want to download it :)

At work with outlook express and possible other similar files first of all this is reliability-recovery file wab,and this tool can do this, also it has free status, program software was designed to fix data corruption issues for Windows Address Book files in wab and wa~ format, recovery utility to fix Windows Address Book problems and retrieve corrupted contact entries from corrupted files of wa~ and wab format, tool Microsoft permits to perform Outlook wab recovery faster and keeps the privacy of repaired contact entries, recovery file wab actions on user workstation, users should not send their wab files to other services for . wab files recovery, program for recovery wab file is installed very fast, the files are placed to Program Files directory, like for all Windows applications, previewed by all users, but, you will have difficulties in the previewing of other contacts.
